Media Clubs

The project has established media-focused student societies at Shah Abdul Latif University (SALU) in Khairpur and Benazir Bhutto Shaheed University (BBSUL) in Lyari, Karachi. These Media Clubs aim to create a sustainable framework for students to actively participate in and lead media-driven peacebuilding efforts. By supporting an environment where students collaborate on media projects, the initiative seeks to promote a culture of peace and understanding within the universities and across the broader media landscape. These clubs serve as catalysts for change, empowering students to take an active role in promoting social cohesion and countering extremism through innovative and impactful media strategies.

The objectives are as under.

  • Promotion of Peace and Tolerance: Equip beneficiaries with the skills to use media as a tool for promoting peace, tolerance, and inclusivity on campus and in the broader community.
  • Advancement of Media Skills: Build the capacity of student societies to effectively use media for creating and disseminating positive peace narratives.
  • Student Engagement: Facilitate student-led activities that encourage active participation in media-based peace initiatives and facilitate a culture of proactive dialogue and conflict resolution.
  • Develop Positive Narratives: Use student-led media projects to generate and amplify positive narratives and contributing to a more informed and supportive campus environment.
