The Capstone Project Launch Ceremony was a milestone moment for the inaugural cohort of the Pakistan Entrepreneurial Journalism Program (PEJP), marking the official launch of their 20 digital news platforms after months of hard work and mentorship. Held virtually on August 26, 2021, through MICAP’s virtual event management platform, the ceremony brought together journalists, media professionals, and industry leaders to celebrate the participants’ journeys and showcase their ready-to-launch platforms.
The event was thoughtfully structured around four key themes that reflected the focus of the cohort’s digital news startups:
- Gender Representation and Social Media
- Ethics as a Core Consideration for Localized Digital News
- Climate and Wildlife Protection – Necessity, Not Choice
- The Relationship Between Economy and Under-Emphasized Societal Values
Each session featured participants presenting their platforms to expert panels relevant to their theme, creating space for meaningful feedback and dialogue.
