This training program aims to employ the power and reach of new and digital media, combined with peacebuilding context, audience-specific education, development, and networking, to highlight and expand the influence of peacebuilders in Pakistan. By supporting this uniquely situated group and building upon their strong community voice and action, the training strengthens the ability of women, along with their male supporters, to reduce the influence of extremist ideologies and narratives that foster insecurity and violence across Pakistan.
By creating and amplifying inspiring and stereotype-defying examples of women and men who courageously work for community cohesion and counter extremist narratives, the training offers alternative examples of powerful women and supportive men who stand against violence in communities across Pakistan.
It also encourages community engagement with published materials and embody a conversational, multi-sided exchange among peacebuilders, supporters, community members, and the broader public. By intentionally directing discourse around peace and peacebuilding process, the training program emphasizes essential messages, including female peacebuilders’ critical role in Pakistan.
To strengthen, and expand the impact and influence of peacebuilders, it is pre-eminent to enhance their theoretical knowledge, interpersonal skills, and technical skills. The training curriculum is designed with the purpose of empowering peacebuilders with all required knowledge and skills. On one side of it, Peace perspectives have helped enhance the knowledge while on the other hand, modules on leadership, communication digital production and project management elevated their interpersonal, technological, technical and management skills. It is cautiously sequenced to begin from increasing knowledge to enhancing interpersonal skills to strengthening technical skills, and to wrap with the immediate verified output in terms of conceptualized peace action project.
After this five-module-based training learners have exhibited increased
Confidence, using and sharing information, learning and ideas, and using activities and skills aiming to solve problems related to peace and conflict in their communities. These skills build confidence and support work in other life areas as well as post PAP.
Responsibility, through learning and applying skills like leadership skills, designing interventions, team building, self-assessment and other in this training, will prepare them to become effective peace activists, helping them to become active and responsible members of society.
Reflectiveness, through making connections between different aspects of identified problems and training modules and considering the outcomes of conflict transformation, and Peace action plan.
Innovation, through solving both familiar and unfamiliar problems in different ways, selecting from a range of provided knowledge via communication, networking, media, conflict transformation and project management techniques during training.
Engagement, by the effectiveness and structure of this training module in their sustainable Peace action plans, its patterns and training many applications to real life situations.
