Baseline Study
A baseline study has been conducted twice during the project’s duration to accurately estimate the impact of the PeaceFLIX project. The study aims to outline the behaviors, attributes, and engagement levels of identified community peacebuilders. Information is collected from these peacebuilders on the status of their engagement in peacebuilding activities across diverse communities in Pakistan. This process is necessary to determine the priority areas for intervention. Capturing the right information beforehand helps identify which aspects of the target population best align with the PeaceFLIX project objectives.
Three data collection strategies have been developed to serve as tools for the study.
Baseline Study Tools
1.In-depth Survey:
An in-depth survey has been conducted with potential peacebuilders from communities across Pakistan. Participants have had the option to complete the survey in English or Urdu through various methods, including a Google Form, a digital Word file, a paper-based survey submitted by email, or a file sent via WhatsApp. The survey team has coordinated with all participants, assisting them in understanding and filling out the survey form through phone calls, emails, and WhatsApp. The gender and locale of the baseline respondents can be seen here:

2.Focus Group Discussion (FGD)
A qualitative approach has been used to gain an in-depth understanding of each identified community peacebuilder. This method aims to obtain data from a purposely selected group of peacebuilders with diverse backgrounds and experiences. Two groups of 11 peacebuilders each have been formed using a random sampling method to conduct online FGDs.
These discussions allow a deeper understanding of the peacebuilders’ views, ideas, and experiences of peacebuilding in Pakistan. Participants share their own definitions of peace and peacebuilding, discuss the challenges they face in their everyday peacebuilding activities, and articulate their visions for being part of this project.
3.Key Informant Interviews (KII)
Qualitative in-depth interviews have been held with peacebuilders who possess sufficient knowledge of their communities. The purpose of these Key Informant Interviews (KIIs) is to collect information from a diverse range of individuals—including community leaders, professionals, and residents—who have firsthand knowledge about their community and peacebuilding engagements. These community experts provide valuable insights into the nature of problems and offer recommendations for solutions.
KII tools and guidelines have been discussed and finalized between the project and survey team in November 2021. Using a random sampling method, ten participants have been identified to partake in the KIIs. The data extracted from these interviews helps the project team understand the community peacebuilding landscape and women’s role in it, as well as determine the capacity development support needed to enhance peacebuilders’ work and peacebuilding efforts more broadly.
Program Launch
The program launch campaign has been designed with careful consideration of social media trends and visibility. The team has deliberated on the campaign material to ensure that the importance and scope of the program remain visible through each element.
The campaign includes various informational materials such as posters, videos, gifs, and infographics. These elements are designed to effectively engage the audience and communicate the program’s key messages.
1. Announcement Post – Two pictorial posters featuring photographs of all 193 participants, including 96 from year one and 97 from year two, to introduce the program to digital audiences.”

2. Meet the Participants Post – 5 posters with program participants split into groups as per their province. These posters are also converted into a gif to share on platforms like Instagram and Twitter.

3. Participants’ Quotes – 6 posters featuring 6 program participants to show their understanding of peace and how to make it more widespread.

4. Infographics Video – A 10-seconds-long video showing the scope of action of program participants through bar graphs. It can be watched here

5. Explanatory Videos – 3 videos around the idea of peace and peacebuilding in Pakistan have been produced and disseminated to explain key concepts to digital audiences and introduce the program’s aims as well.
6. Webinar – The webinar sheds light on peacebuilding perspectives both in Pakistan and internationally, highlighting the work that has been done and areas that still need attention.

Live features of the campaign have effectively sparked the interest of the participants and got them hyped and ready for the training.
