Climate Mitigation Through Plantation Drives
A plantation drive has been organized in Panno Aqil, Sindh, and Khushab, Punjab, to raise awareness about climate mitigation and reduce the threat of global warming. This initiative aims to involve flood-affected communities in adopting natural conservation practices.
GNMI’s efforts focus on engaging local communities, particularly those impacted by recent floods, to participate in plantation activities. By planting trees, we aim to restore the natural environment, enhance biodiversity, and promote sustainable practices that contribute to long-term climate resilience. The drive also serves as an educational opportunity, informing participants about the importance of reforestation in mitigating climate change and preventing future environmental disasters.

Disaster Risk Reduction and Preparedness
GNMI has organized disaster preparedness training to equip local communities with the essential skills and knowledge to handle emergencies effectively. This training has become particularly crucial in the aftermath of natural catastrophes like post-flood situations. Participants have learned about risk assessment, emergency response strategies, and the importance of early warning systems, empowering them to cope with post-calamity scenarios and better prepare for future emergencies.
