GNMI has launched a successful climate advocacy campaign across various digital media platforms. We have engaged senior journalists, energy and sustainability experts, environmentalists, urban planners, urban foresters, and other stakeholders in public awareness campaigns on climate change. Our main goal is to increase public discourse on climate change, build support for potential policy actions, and inspire individuals to adopt more sustainable behaviors. Through these efforts, we aim to highlight the urgent need for climate action and encourage communities to work towards a sustainable future.
Webinars
Two webinars on renewable energy and green cities have been organized on 20th March 2024 and 28th March 2024, respectively. These activities feature journalists and subject-matter experts who engage the public in interactive sessions on climate-focused issues. The webinars have been highlighted in national newspapers and digital media platforms, amplifying the scope of digital advocacy to the next level.

News Articles
We have also published two articles in national newspapers to further our climate advocacy efforts. The first article, “Pakistan and Climate Change (پاکستان اور موسمیاتی تغّیر),” published in Express News on 30th June 2024. This piece has spotlighted the urgent environmental challenges facing Pakistan and elucidated the nation’s efforts and strategies to combat climate change. It aims to educate the public on the significance of sustainable practices and policies needed to mitigate the adverse effects of climate change.
The second article, “Journalists Under a Climate Siege,” appeared in The News on 2nd July 2024. This article sheds light on the crucial role journalists play in reporting climate-related issues and the challenges they face in doing so. It emphasizes the importance of protecting and empowering journalists to ensure accurate and comprehensive coverage of environmental crises.
Both articles aim to raise public awareness about climate change and its impact on journalists and diverse communities across Pakistan. By publishing these articles, we seek informed public discourse, inspire policy actions, and encourage community engagement in climate mitigation and adaptation efforts.

Public Service Messages
As part of our digital advocacy campaign, renowned public figures and personalities have shared impactful public service messages highlighting the urgency of the climate crisis and the detrimental impact of human activities on the environment. These influential voices, including broadcast journalists, celebrities, scientists, climate advocates, policymakers and civil society activists, have raised awareness to inspire action. Their messages emphasize the immediate need for climate action, urging individuals, communities, and governments to take responsibility and implement sustainable practices.
Through engaging videos, social media posts, and public statements, these figures have brought attention to critical issues such as deforestation, pollution, extreme weather conditions, and global warming. They help connect with diverse audiences by personalizing the climate narrative and making the message more relatable and compelling. This initiative amplifies our digital advocacy efforts, broadening our reach and strengthening the call for collective action against climate change.
