GNMI organized 22 online workshops and training and sensitized 226 journalists, during the years 2020, 2021 and 2022, representing different geographical regions. GNMI tailored these trainings on authentic news gathering, digital news content creation, digital news media reporting, debunking myths, misconceptions, and disinformation using fact-checking and ethical journalism practices. Methodology of these workshops was a mix of participatory and cognitive approaches. Interactive exercises and presentations were used to deliver the training’s content. GNMI invited potential trainers including Aoun Sahi, Pulitzer-winning senior investigative journalist; Masroor Gilani, a fact-checking specialist at Agency France Press; Tayyeb Afridi, founder, and CEO of Tribal News Network; Khalid Khattak; data journalist, Husnain Jamal; senior journalist, Afia Salam; senior journalist, to train, sensitize, and motivate the aspiring and mid-level journalists.
