GNMI enriches from IJASIA18: Investigation, News and Culture- a complete learning experience

GNMI represented Pakistan in Asian Investigative Journalism Conference. #IJAsia18 was a four-day training-focused conference that provided a great opportunity to network in the region. Over 440 investigative journalists from 48 countries gathered in Seoul, Korea from October 4-7, 2018.

All the sessions were focused on current and emerging issues, best practices, innovative case studies, and challenges faced by journalism. Well-planned breakout sessions greatly benefited the larger gathering to learn from each other. Speakers shared their experiences about disinformation, the intentional use of false or misleading information for political purposes which is increasingly recognized as a threat to democracy worldwide.

The issues covered range from Cross Border Investigation, Reporting #MeToo in Asia, Digital and Physical Safety, Corporate Crime, Tax Scams, Best Practices for Sustainable Newsrooms and Mobile Journalism to Data Journalism.

GNMI being the most updated and responsible media platform in Pakistan, didn’t deprive the audiences in Pakistan and showed the complete experience through tele-conferencing.  GNMI is exploring world and bridging the communication between different part of the word through its expertise in research, media skills and the perspective towards the issues which others are lacking or ignoring. GNMI promises to keep bringing the best for its audiences.
