Welcome to “Gender Justice – Punjab,” an innovative initiative carefully designed to address the critical need for heightened awareness and sensitivity among journalists and digital media creators in specific districts of Punjab. These districts – Lahore, Gujrat, Sargodha, Rawalpindi, Sialkot, and Nankana Sahib – find themselves at a vulnerable crossroads where Gender-Based Violence (GBV) leaves its mark.
This program operates on a two-fold approach. First, it aims to sensitize print and digital media platforms to expand their coverage of GBV cases. It also focuses on empowering journalists and digital content creators in Punjab’s targeted districts with the necessary knowledge and skills to enhance their reporting on GBV, effectively communicating with their audiences. Secondly, the program harnesses the power of digital media to increase public awareness about the prevalence of GBV. It seeks to shed light on response mechanisms, including survivor support services and the intricate details of criminal justice processes. Through this digital outreach, the initiative strives to facilitate a more informed and impactful public discourse about GBV and its consequences.
